Hair Style;
Brennan has never been very bothered by the way she looks. Sure, when she does look good she loves it, but it's not on her high priority list every moring. There are some girls who spend hours on their hair every day: washing, conditioning, blow-drying, straightening, curling and then styling. Brennan can't fathom why they do. Most of the time the wind blows it about the minute they step out of their front-door, so what's the point right? Brennan's hair is just one length and straight. Nothing fancy, just easy and manageable. It's brown in colour and is curled most of the time in gentle waves. Usually she'll just brush it, maybe straighten it if it's incredibly horrible, and then leave it. Sometimes she'll pull it back into a ponytail. Usually though, it'll be messy and fluffed up by the time she gets to work.
Eyes;
Her eyes. This is generally what people notice about her when they first meet. They are a light grey in colour, yet can vary depending on her feelings and emotions. Usually, they are full of life and are a calm grey, showing how laid back she can be. Whenever she's angry, her eyes go almost black and when she's upset they will go a dark grey colour. She's never been one for make-up either so most of the time her lashes will have a coating of mascara just to make herself look presentable that morning.
Celebrity; Emily Deschanel
Job; World Renowned Forensic Anthropologist who also writes books on the side
area; Anthropology
schooling; Brennan attended private school and graduated top of her class. She majored in science and anthroplogy at college, once again coming out on top. She's one of the best anthropologists in the country... then again, the next one is in Montréal, so she has to be. She can also sometimes be in high demand, people needing her for cases all over the world. Bren is fussy though, and will pick and choose the cases that most appeal to her.

[/li][li]Never finding out what happened to her father
[/li][li]Never falling in love
Quirks/Flaws/Habits;
[/li][li]Brennan has a lack of pop culture knowledge. Whenever someone references a TV show or something of the kind she will reply with "I don't know what that means."
[/li][li]When she's nervous, Bren will chew on her bottom lip and shuffle on her feet.
[/li][li]She can go days without sleeping when there's a case and will be buzzing around the lab on a caffeine high.
Goals;
[/li][li]To settle down and start a family
[/li][li]To find a man who accepts her career... surprisingly enough, not many men want to know a woman who works with dead people.
[/li][li]To eventually move back to Washington.
Secrets;
[/li][li]Even though she may look tough, Brennan secretly hides her emotions and takes any critisism she gets to heart.
[/li][li]She was in the foster system.
Personality;
Brilliant, but narrow-focused on her work to the point of seeming to lack any social skills, she can appear to be cold and unable to empathize with people. As you get to know her, the inner emotions and the human past of Dr. Brennan are slowly revealed. Temperance has had a hard life, so all her emotions and feelings have been hidden away. She's always been scared that she'll get hurt so she just buries them away. Very few people can get behind the screen, but some do.
Despite her extensive knowledge of anthropology, she is quite unaware of pop culture and her coworkers like to tease her about it. Whenever someone makes an obvious popular culture reference, she blankly states "I don't know what that means", and she is somewhat excited on the rare occasion that she does understand them. Brennan also lacks social skills and has trouble understanding jokes and sarcasm.

History;
Apparently ordinary suburban folk, Max and Ruth Keenan had a son Kyle followed four years later in 1976 by a daughter, Joy. However, a dark secret resided in this seemingly perfect family - Max and Ruth were federal offenders, career criminals, specialising in safety deposit box robberies. A few years after having Joy, a job went wrong and an ill advised partnership led Max and Ruth to change their identities hoping to protect their children against old acquaintances, and they attempted to leave their criminal pasts behind them. Ruth became Christine, a bookkeeper, Max became Matthew and became a highschool teacher. 7 year old Russ became Kyle Brennan and 3 year old Joy became Temperance.
The Brennan's lead a relatively normal family life. Temperance, while excelling at school was quiet and withdrawn, often only speaking once a day to acknowledge her brother when he called out for her to check if she was ok. Then, when Temperance was 15, her parent's criminal associates tracked the family down. At Ruth's urging, Max and her abandoned their children, in an attempt to protect them, walking out a few weeks before Christmas. Temperance was devastated and lashed out at Russ who, at only 19 years old himself, left before the New Year was in. Temperance was put into the foster care system by social services and worked her way through numerous foster homes before making it out of the system.
As a result, adult Temparence regards herself as an orphan, believing her mother and father would have had to have been killed in some way to have fallen out of her life so quickly and completely. Socially inept with little popular cultural knowledge she throwed herself completely into studying. Emotionally withdrawn she had trouble connecting with people and in an effort to prevent herself getting hurt again she often distanced herself from people, including the victims that lay before her in her lab. However, a few romantic interests came and went through her life and at one point she was involved with her Professor at University.
She exceled in her field of Forensic Anthropology and became a highly respected, world renowned scientist working for the Jeffersonian Institute in Washington DC. She also wrote crime novels that became bestsellers and her friends often pointed out that she wrote more of herself and colleagues in the books than she perhaps recognised. Never taking a vacation for any reason other than to work, her only trips out of the lab involved investigating human remains in ancient and modern settings. Her job has taken to her to Sudan, Rwanda, Guatamalea, Tibet - where she treked throuh thr mountains to avoid the Chinese Army - and she helped sort through the remains of those killed in 9/11. One particular ill advised trip resulted in her being taken hostage, and held in isolation for days under constant theat of death.
At some point however, a friendship as forged with Angela Montenegro, artist and free spirit who lives a full and big life. Angela's support and example inspire Temperance to get out of her lab and experience the world, and not just in a "digging through mass graves" way. Her chance came after she acted as consultant for the FBI on behalf of the Jeffersonian. Major Crimes Special Agent Seeley Booth pursued her to consult for him on cases following an initial consultation for him where he recognised her genius through the difficulties caused by her personality. Temperance, wanting to experience more of life outside her lab, blackmailed Booth, insisting she would only work with him if he fully involved her in the cases. He reluctantly agreed.
Against the odds, a wonderful partnership was soon forged. Nicknaming her 'Bones', Booth proved himself to Temeperance to be affable, trustworthy and loyal. Through her partnership and friendship with Booth and her Squint Squad - colleagues and interns at the Jeffersonian, Temparence slowly learned to open herself more to the world. A year into her partnership with Booth, the twisted tale of her disappearing parents and her changed identity emerged with the discovery of her mother's skeleton.The reappearance of her criminal father once again threw Temperance for a spin. With Booth and her friends and colleagues she investigated further and learned more about herself, and the compassion and loyalty of those who love her, then ever before.After a few years though, the Jeffersonian decided that she was needed elsewhere so Brennan was sent to Princeton-Plainsboro and started work there, identifying bodies from accidents and finding out how and why when a patient dies.

Almost a week without sleep wasn't good for anyone, especially someone who would probably die from working herself to death. Sleeping though? Well, for Dr Temperance Brennan that was out of the question. A case had been brought in almost a week ago, a young girl's skeleton, and it had never taken Bones this long to figure the murder (if it was a murder) out. It was this fact that was causing her to stay up - she was the best in Washington, perhaps even America, and couldn't just give up.
Picking up another mug of coffee, she brought it to her lips and drank. This was the thirtieth or so cup she had drunk that day and it was barely keeping her awake. Reching up, she tied her hair back away from her face, pulled on a pair of latex gloves and went back over to where the skull sat. 'Okay Brennan, you can figure this out, you know she was killed by a blow to the head...' As much as she wanted to think this, there was no evidence that could support her claim and it bugged her like hell.
Picking it up in her hands, the young doctor examined it once again before putting it back down onto the table and pulling off the gloves, stuffing them into her pocket. Sighing, she returned to her desk and slumped down in the chair, watching as the clock ticked past two am. Booth (her partner and friend) had called around 10pm the night before, asking her where she was. She had replied that she was at home but in reality she hadn't left the lab - just hidden out in her office until he had left. She didn't need him worrying. Besides, everyone here knew that she was a workaholic.
"Bones?" Her head spun round when she head a familiar voice at her door. Only one person would call her by that annoying nickname... although she had to admit, from his lips, she liked it.
